ARMHC: A New Sanctuary for Families in Pain

Since 1979 Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (ARMHC) has provided sanctuary to more than 40,000 families from across the Southeast. These families are attending to the needs of their ill and injured children visiting Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. In 2006, the organization built a 40-room facility near Children’s Hospital at Emory University c. In 2012, the organization embarked on a campaign to raise $18M to replace its 11-room facility near Atlanta’s Scottish Rite Hospital.

By mid-2014, ARMHC had raised about half of the funds need to build the new house. Good Thinking was asked to help create a public campaign to raise the balance of the funds and help ARMHC meet a $2.5M matching grant by December 31, 2014.

Good Thinking created an integrated mass media campaign that included TV and radio (in collaboration with Craig Miller Productions), digital outdoor, conventional outdoor billboards, bus shelter posters, donor website and in-store promotions for Atlanta’s 300+ Metro McDonald’s stores. Ground breaking for the new facility was September 30, 2014. ARMHC achieved its goal. Our public campaign helped them do it.
